Neighborhood goodness

Abby made a new friend today! Linda, who works in the Belmar management office, stopped by to see if Abby might want to go on a walk over her lunch break. Would she ever?! This dog will go anywhere, with anyone, at anytime. She thinks all roads lead to the park. It takes a village to raise a border collie. Or at least keep one as happy as this one is. Look at that smile.

Working Class Hereos

 

 

It was a relief to have this box arrive today. Our first order with Working Class Heroes, based in Austria has been sitting in customs for a few weeks now. And trying to find anyone to talk to about this has been impossible. But nevermind, it arrived! Beautiful felt and leather products for your Mac laptops and accessories! Should be up on the site very soon.

Spring-tastic

Lately, Denver fashion has been in the headlines - two fashion blogs - the-intersection and The Streets of Denver have been getting some press. When I saw how great Megan and Levi looked, I thought we should start a Belmar fashion blog! Then I reminded myself how much I have on my plate already. Anyways, their outfits reminded me that fashion can be fun. She had great yellow shoes on too.

Flor Display

 

 

A cool new display arrived from Flor yesterday! We are one of the few retailers in the nation that keeps a full-size Flor tile on-hand for our customers to borrow -- Like our very own modular carpet tile library. But this fixture will be a great addition to that system. It stores all of the small samples and has great information on it. Composition's fixtures have all been customed designed, so it had to look good to fit in - I think they did a great job with it!

Composition started as my way to express and share a passion for design. It started a little over 5 years ago with a 450 square foot space in lower downtown Denver. It was a terrible retail location but I guess I was so optimistic and naive that I didn't know any better. I think my sheer exuberance for the products, vendors and the people I was meeting carried me through that first 15 months. Since then, I have learned a great deal about the retail business and its many challenges; grown the store to 2600 square feet in its current Belmar location and continued to feed and share my passion for design and the creative community that this store reaches. I have a lot more to say and share, but right now there is a website to launch.
